The Department of Business and Professional Regulation licenses and regulates nearly a million Florida businesses and professionals, from real estate agents, veterinarians, and accountants to contractors and cosmetologists. Our mission is to license efficiently and regulate fairly.

From first-time license applications to routine inspections, DBPR works hard to serve the needs of the four major industries it regulates, which include alcoholic beverages and tobacco; condominiums, timeshares, and mobile homes; hotels & restaurants; and pari-mutuel wagering.

DBPR is responsible for licensing a diverse group of professions, including realtors, certified public accountants, boxers, community association managers, construction and electrical contractors, cosmetologists and veterinarians. DBPR also investigates unlicensed activity to protect both licensees and consumers.

The next license renewal cycles end
May 31 and July 1. Professionals and businesses should check their licenses to see when to renew. Affected licenses include many talent agents, athlete agents, CAM CE providers, veterinarian CE providers, veterinarians and alcoholic beverages and tobacco license holders.
