DIVISION OF DRUGS, DEVICES AND COSMETICS
FREIGHT FORWARDER
A freight forwarder is a person who receives prescription drugs which are owned by another person and designated by that person for export, and exports those prescription drugs.
Important Licensing Exemption: Part I of Chapter 499, Florida Statutes does not apply to common carriers engaged in interstate commerce in the usual course of business as common carriers. For example, no permit under Part I of Chapter 499, Florida Statutes would be required for a marine non-vessel-operating common carrier, at the direction of its customer, arranging shipborne export of a customer’s prescription drugs, in the ordinary course of business.

License Term: Freight Forwarder permits are valid through the last day of the initial issuance month in the second year of licensure. Example: A permit issued on September 12, 2011 would be valid through September 30, 2013.
