January 20, 2012 Dear Friends, Customer outreach and interaction is one of the best ways our Department can get to know our licensees and people who may want to get to work in Florida. This week, I was honored to speak at the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association’s “Florida Tourism Day” and attend the tourism street festival to promote our state. Tourism is vital to Florida’s economy and I wanted our licensees who are engaged in the tourism industry to know we support them. Residents and guests of our state should also be comfortable knowing that these establishments are regulated and are held to high sanitation and safety standards when they enjoy this great state. Additionally, through the end of January and into February, Department staff will be available at the Capitol for “CustomerAssist” days. Through our help desk at the Capitol, customers who need assistance with their applications can receive the help they need, ask the questions they have and receive direct and personal assistance.
