Dear Friends,

This Thanksgiving, I will be reflecting on the many things for which I am thankful. First, I am so thankful to be able to serve as Secretary of DBPR, but I am even more thankful to have the opportunity to make improvements here at the Department that make doing business in Florida less restrictive. Throughout the time that I have served as Secretary, the Department has focused on lessening the burdensome regulations that have been found to be unnecessary, all while helping ensure that Florida’s citizens and visitors are safe when they do business with our licensees. The ability to serve such an awesome state is something I never take for granted, and I thoroughly enjoy the opportunities I am afforded.

Furthermore, I am thankful that I get to come to work each day and interact with the great people that work at the Department. DBPR is made up of hundreds of driven employees who want Florida to be the best that it can be, and each day, they strive to do their part so that it is. DBPR employees are truly dedicated to public service, which sometimes means they are away from their families on days like Thanksgiving to perform their work duties so the public may remain safe. I sincerely thank the inspectors and officers who put their needs after everyone else’s.

Lastly, I am thankful that you allow us to continue serving Florida’s businesses and professionals. I truly hope you all enjoy the time you have with your families, and that you have a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend!
