DBPR Bottom Line: Fast Facts for Florida Business Leaders

April 20, 2012

Dear Friends,

Here at the Department, we like to celebrate the successes of our licensees because their business growth is exactly what will make Florida the best place for business. This past November, we started recognizing food service licensees who had zero violations in their inspections over the last year. I am so happy to report that this week, we had 43 restaurants on the list, the largest number on the weekly list so far!

As part of our commitment to the success of our licensees, we are also dedicated to enforcing the unlicensed activity laws in the state. We have recently been a part of several multi-agency operations where unlicensed activity was found, and we worked to either get the offenders into compliance or ensure they were no longer operating if they chose not to follow the rules. Combating unlicensed activity is something we take very seriously. Anyone can report unlicensed activity to: ula@dbpr.state.fl.us.

This Tuesday was Tax Day, which affected many of our CPA licensees. Whether you filed early or you’re seeking an extension, if you need assistance from a CPA make sure he or she has a license. I hope all of our CPA licensees had a successful tax season!

Sincerely,

Ken Lawson
