DBPR Bottom Line: Fast Facts for Florida Business Leaders

April 27, 2012

Dear Friends,

Here at the Department, we are dedicated to ensuring that we operate as efficiently and effectively as possible for the people of this great state. As we continue toward this goal, we are constantly reviewing our performance and identifying any new ways we can improve.

Each year, state agencies submit a Long Range Program Plan to the Governor and the Legislature outlining the agency’s performance goals. Over the past few weeks, we have been reviewing our progress toward our goals and discussing possible new goals. We are focused on the Department’s core functions which are licensing, enforcement and customer assistance, and we are committed to our goals of streamlining government, removing barriers to business in order to enhance Florida’s pro-business climate, protecting the health and safety of Floridians and reducing operating expenses and increasing productivity.

I am very proud of the progress we have made thus far to make our customer’s experiences better and focus on our mission to “license efficiently, regulate fairly.” We are working hard to be the best we can and, as always, I am open to your feedback and welcome your input. It is an honor to serve you, and I appreciate the opportunity to do so!

Sincerely,

Ken Lawson
