One of my favorite parts of being Secretary at DBPR is having the ability to celebrate the success of many of our licensees across the state. This week, I had the privilege to join Darden Restaurants at the ribbon cutting to reveal the re-model and re-design of the Red Lobster in Tallahassee. The updates to the Red Lobster were a testament to Darden’s long history in Florida and I was very glad to commemorate this milestone at the longest continually operating Red Lobster in the Darden restaurant system.
Additionally, I am looking forward to meeting with many members of the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association (FRLA) in Central Florida next week. While there, I plan to discuss what we do at the Department as well as other industry-relevant business process improvements we have made to make regulations less cumbersome on these important businesses.
Restaurants and hotels are not only one of our largest groups of licensees, they are vital to Florida’s economy. Having the restaurant and lodging industry as our partner is something that is very important to me and I thank them for their hard work in making Florida one of the best places to live and visit!
