May 25, 2012 Dear Friends, As the Memorial Day weekend approaches, I encourage you to remember what Memorial Day is all about: honoring and remembering the soldiers that have paid the ultimate sacrifice while fighting for this great country of ours. We owe them our sincere gratitude and respect because freedom is never free. Additionally, I’d like to take the time to encourage each of you to celebrate this fun-filled weekend safely. Although it is a time of remembrance, it is also an occasion to spend time with family and friends, get out of the house and enjoy our wonderful Florida weather. Throughout the weekend, agents from our Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco will partner with many local agencies to patrol licensed establishments and events across the state to make sure Florida’s beverage laws are being followed. Our patrol efforts are vital to ensuring local communities are safe so that everyone may enjoy this weekend. No matter how you celebrate this Memorial Day weekend, please do so safely.
