The Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco Makes 14 Underage Drinking Arrests at St. Patrick’s Day Festivities

TALLAHASSEE—Fourteen underage youth celebrating St. Patrick’s Day in Tallahassee, were left feeling green after being issued notices to appear for underage drinking. The Department of Business and Professional Regulation’s Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco arrested 14 people for underage drinking on Wednesday. Underage drinkers received notices to appear with a possible penalty of 60 days in jail or a $500 fine.
“ABT agents play an important role in our community by keeping citizens safe and enforcing underage drinking laws, especially during holidays and celebrations,” said Interim Secretary Liem.
The mission of ABT is to keep alcohol and tobacco out of the hands of underage persons, to ensure that licensed establishments are in compliance with the laws and rules regulating the industry in Florida, and to collect taxes and fees related to these industries.
