State Regulating Agency Announces Enforcement Operations Across Florida this Memorial Day

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) today announced its Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco (ABT) will conduct multiple enforcement operations this Memorial Day weekend to help keep Floridians and visitors safe. ABT agents will patrol multiple events and licensed premises to identify underage drinking or sales of alcohol to underage individuals. The Division will also partner with several local law enforcement agencies to assist in local Memorial Day enforcement efforts.
“Our patrol efforts help keep alcohol out of the hands of the underaged,” said Secretary Ken Lawson. “ABT agents are vital to ensuring local communities are safe so that everyone may enjoy this Memorial Day.”
The Division is charged with enforcing Florida’s alcoholic beverage laws, including the prohibitions against underage drinking, and regularly conducts compliance and enforcement checks throughout the state. Covered areas will include Ft. Myers, Gainesville, Jacksonville, Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Pensacola, Tallahassee, Tampa and West Palm Beach.
