ABT Works with the Landing to Keep Alcohol out of the Hands of the Underage
September 29, 2009
JACKSONVILLE—In support of the Landing’s effort to keep alcohol out of the hands of the underage, agents with the Department of Business and Professional Regulation’s Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco patrolled Friday’s fall concert series to stop underage drinking. ABT agents issued 13 notices to appear, 11 for possession of an alcoholic beverage by a person under 21 and two for giving alcoholic beverages to a person under 21.
Underage drinking prevention is one of the division’s top priorities. The division works to combat underage drinking through a three-tiered approach—education, prevention, and enforcement.
The department’s mission is to license efficiently and regulate fairly. The department licenses more than one million businesses and professionals ranging from real estate agents, veterinarians, and accountants to contractors and cosmetologists.
