Department of Business and Professional Regulation Expands Electronic Fingerprinting Service to Expedite Licensing

TALLAHASSEE—Beginning Wednesday, March 11, the Department of Business and Professional Regulation is expanding the electronic fingerprinting service to four more professions in order to  shorten the time it takes to process applications. This enhancement will help Florida’s businessmen and women become licensed more efficiently.

“Electronic fingerprints will reduce the amount of red tape needed to get a license so applicants can get to work sooner,” said Secretary Charles W. Drago.

Community association managers, athlete and talent agents and employee leasing companies will join the professions that already use the service. Submitting electronic fingerprints will decrease the chance of illegible fingerprints and reduce the possibility of missing information on the fingerprint card, such as wrong hair color, place of birth, date of birth, or citizenship information. Fingerprints will be scanned and submitted to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Applicants can submit their electronic fingerprints by scheduling an appointment with Pearson VUE at various locations around the state. Those who live out-of-state must mail a fingerprint card to the Pearson VUE location in Colorado.
