Renewal for Tobacco Licenses Begins Today
May 14, 2009
TALLAHASSEE—Today, the Department of Business and Professional Regulation reminds tobacco wholesalers, distributors and exporters that now through July 1 they can renew licenses. For convenient, online renewal, licensees can visit MyFloridaLicense.com and click the “Renew/Maintain Your License” link.
To qualify for renewal, individuals must be in compliance with state tobacco laws and their licenses must be current. If licensees do not renew by the deadline, their licenses will expire. They will have up to 30 days after the renewal date to renew by sending in the license fee and the late fee. After July 31, the licensee needs to submit a “Request for Delinquent Renewal application” and pay the license and late fee.
The mission of ABT is to keep alcohol and tobacco out of the hands of underage persons, to ensure that licensed establishments are in compliance with the laws and rules regulating the industry in Florida, and to collect taxes and fees related to these industries.
The Department of Business and Professional Regulation’s mission is to license efficiently and regulate fairly. The Department licenses more than one million businesses and professionals ranging from real estate agents, veterinarians, and accountants to contractors and cosmetologists.
