Pari-Mutuel Wagering and Cardroom Guidelines
- Florida Pari-Mutuel and Cardroom Occupational Licenses are valid for three fiscal years. Licenses expire on June 30th.
- Certified law enforcement or corrections officers working in security or safety positions do not require an occupational license, except when working as the Chief of Security.
- Persons issued a professional-level license will be allowed to work in a general occupation of the same type without obtaining a general-level license.
- Pursuant to s.205.171, F.S., an honorably discharged disabled veteran from one of the time periods specified in s.1.01(14), F.S., or the unremarried spouse of a deceased disabled veteran meeting this criteria, may be exempt from license fees up to $50.00. Fingerprint fees are not exempt.
- Professionals including: doctor, nurse, paramedic, emergency medical technician (EMT), physician’s assistants, and veterinarian (including track veterinarian) must have a Florida professional license with the proper state agency, prior to occupational licensure by the Division of Pari-Mutuel Wagering.
- The fingerprint fee is $37.25 the first year and $13.25 every 3 years thereafter. A fingerprint card may be obtained at any Pari-Mutuel facility; your local law enforcement office (prints must be taken on an “Applicant” fingerprint card); by contacting the division at the number listed below; or you may submit your fingerprints electronically through a law enforcement agency or an approved service provider that has a live scan or hard card scanning device. If you are able to submit your fingerprints electronically, please submit them with the following required ORI number: FL920630Z.
Fingerprints will be electronically retained for future submissions to the FDLE if there is no lapse in licensure. Fingerprints can be mailed to DBPR; Division of Pari-Mutuel Wagering; Licensing Section, 2601 Blair Stone Road, Tallahassee, FL 32399-1037.
