Department of Business and Professional Regulation Employees Recognized with Davis Productivity Awards

TALLAHASSEE—The Department of Business and Professional Regulation employees shined at the Davis Productivity Awards. Winners of this esteemed award were announced late last week, and an overwhelming 493 DBPR employees received the honor. The Davis Productivity Awards recognize employees in state government whose work increases productivity, promotes innovation to improve the delivery of state services, and saves money for Florida taxpayers and businesses.
“I am honored that the Davis Productivity Awards recognized DBPR employees. These 27 awards showcase the ingenuity, creativity, and dedication of our employees. I know that we have great employees here, and I am pleased that their hard work has been rewarded,” said Secretary Charles W. Drago.
DBPR’s award winners increased from 48 last year to 493 this year. The entire Division of Hotel and Restaurants received the Exemplary Achievement of a State Agency award. The awards included commemorative plaques and certificates of commendation. Winners were recognized for results using the talents, skills and characteristics imperative to accomplishing DBPR’s mission of licensing efficiently and regulating fairly. Exemplifying the importance of teamwork in business, 13 teams were recognized with the Davis Productivity Awards this year. Additionally, there were five employees who displayed innovation, ownership, and responsiveness for many years and won the elite 2009 Eagle, Sustained Exemplary Performance Awards.
The Prudential - Davis Productivity Awards program is a major government improvement initiative chaired by Lt. Governor Kottkamp and sponsored by Florida TaxWatch, the Florida Council of 100 and the State of Florida. Cash awards, commemorative plaques and certificates of commendation are presented annually to state employees who clearly exceed their job descriptions and performance expectations in ways that improve service delivery and save money for Florida taxpayers and businesses.
