Florida Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco Partners with Local Law Enforcement Agencies this Week

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – As part of its mission to protect Florida’s youth, citizens and guests, the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation’s Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco (ABT) will partner with law enforcement agencies at various local events across the state this week, including several football games and concerts.
Some of the events include the University of South Florida vs. West Virginia football game in Tampa, the Florida Atlantic University vs. University of Louisiana at Monroe football game in Boca Raton, the Buzz Bake Sale concert in West Palm Beach, the Vanilla Ice Block Party in West Palm Beach and the Jacksonville Jaguars vs. San Diego Chargers football game in Jacksonville.
The Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco consistently participates in increased enforcement operations and coordinates directly with local law enforcement agencies across the state. Notification of some of the efforts will be sent out at regular intervals. Any media requests pertaining to these events should be submitted to the Office of Communications before 5 p.m. on Friday, December 2nd.
The Division is charged with keeping alcohol and tobacco out of the hands of underage persons; to ensure that licensed establishments are in compliance with the laws and rules regulating the industry in Florida; and to collect taxes and fees related to these industries.
