Department of Business and Professional Regulation Calls for Vendors to Participate in Mobile Food Vendor Fair

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) today called for mobile food vendors to register for its first ever Mobile Food Vendor Fair. The Department will hold the event on December 9, 2011 at its Tallahassee headquarters located in the Northwood Centre. There are more than 60 mobile food vendors and hot dog carts licensed in Leon County and all have been invited to participate.
DBPR licenses and regulates all food service establishments in the state, including mobile food vendors and hot dog carts. As the most rapidly growing segment of the Department’s food service licensees, mobile food vendors are a vital part of the state’s economy. The fair is part of a continued initiative for the Department and its Secretary, Ken Lawson, to meet licensees and encourage their business development. The event is open to the public.
Leon County vendors interested in participating are asked to RSVP by November 29, 2011 by calling 850.922.8981. Vendors will be required to check in with the Department in advance and undergo a full inspection from the Department’s Division of Hotels and Restaurants. The fair will be held from 4pm to 6pm at 1940 North Monroe Street in Tallahassee.
