Prepare Plan ahead—make sure you have a safe plan for prom or graduation night.
Make your pledge here and share how you say "no" without losing face.
Set expectations with your friends about being responsible during prom and graduation. Do not drink and drive or let friends drink and drive. Bring extra money and the number of a local cab company just in case. Make sure your cell phone is charged and take it with you. If you don’t have a cell phone, make sure you have a way to contact someone. Tell your parents your plans. Have Fun without Losing Face Go to a late night coffee house and relive the evening for hours. Have a prom after-party. Instead of an alcoholic cocktail, have a “Mocktail.” (See recipe below): |
For Parents Only Communicate with your kids about their prom or graduation night. Encourage seatbelt use – it’s the best accessory. Hire a limousine service that will not allow a person to bring or serve alcohol. Know who is driving to prom or graduation and who will be in the car.

Worst Case Scenario If you find yourself or a friend in an emergency situation, including being physically threatened or having alcohol poisoning, call 911. If you feel uncomfortable in any situation, call a friend, parent, or taxi to come pick you up. |
