Q: What authority does the Division operate under?
A: The following Florida Statutes authorize the operation the Division and its subdivisions: Chapter 509, Part 1, Florida Statutes, licensing, inspecting and regulating public lodging and food establishments; Chapter 83, Residential Tenancies (§ 83.40 – 83.681) and 83-Part II, Florida Statutes and Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 61, subsections 61C-1, 61C-3, 61C-4 and 61C-8; Chapter 386, Part II; Chapter 399, Florida Statutes, and Chapter 61C-5, Florida Administrative Code, licensing and regulating elevators, escalators and other vertical conveyance devices.
