Lodging Critical Violations
For LODGING, critical violations involving life safety, sanitation and business practices include the following violations. Chapter 2008-055, Laws of Florida, amended the division's responsibility to notifyng the local firesafety authority or State Fire Marshal of any readily observable fire violations.

- 03–Sprinkler system
- 04–Smoke detectors; fire alarm systems (For Reporting Purposes Only)
- 05–Smoke detectors: hearing impaired
- 06–Exits: obstructions, exit signs, emergency lights (For Reporting Purposes Only)
- 07–Electrical deficiencies (For Reporting Purposes Only)
- 08–Boiler, boiler room
- 09–Lighting; public, guest rooms
- 10–Adequate heating
- 11–Appliances properly installed; maintained
- 12–Balcony: railing safety, certification
- 14–Proper locking devices
- 16–Water sources safe; hot/cold provided
- 21–Toxics; storage, use
- 22–Ice protection
- 23–Glassware; tableware; utensils sanitized
- 24–Vermin control
- 27–Sewage and waste water disposal
- 28–Advertisement
- 33–Unethical business practices; overbooking
- 38–Current license: displayed, available upon request
