Lodging Critical Violations

For LODGING, critical violations involving life safety, sanitation and business practices include the following violations. Chapter 2008-055, Laws of Florida, amended the division's responsibility to notifyng the local firesafety authority or State Fire Marshal of any readily observable fire violations.

• 04–Smoke detectors; fire alarm systems (For Reporting Purposes Only)
• 05–Smoke detectors:  hearing impaired
• 06–Exits:  obstructions, exit signs, emergency lights (For Reporting Purposes Only)
• 07–Electrical deficiencies (For Reporting Purposes Only)
• 08–Boiler, boiler room
• 09–Lighting; public, guest rooms
• 10–Adequate heating
  
• 11–Appliances properly installed; maintained
• 12–Balcony:  railing safety, certification
• 14–Proper locking devices
• 16–Water sources safe; hot/cold provided
• 21–Toxics; storage, use
• 22–Ice protection
• 23–Glassware; tableware; utensils sanitized
• 24–Vermin control
• 27–Sewage and waste water disposal
• 28–Advertisement
• 33–Unethical business practices; overbooking
• 38–Current license:  displayed, available upon request
