Note on rule 61C-5: The Bureau of Elevator Safety has completed rule adoption to match the rule with the Florida Building Code, 2004 edition and 2006 supplements, effective December 8, 2006. The new rule is effective April 2, 2008. For more information, see the Florida Administrative Weekly.

Florida Building Code
The Florida Building Code was adopted by the 2000 Florida Legislature to provide uniform regulations through out the state. The code is adopted by rule 9B-3.047, Florida Administrative Code by the Florida Department of Community Affairs. The 2004 edition of the code has been adopted effective July 1, 2005. Chapters applicable to the division are:

Florida Fire Prevention Code
The Florida Fire Prevention Code is an adaptation of NFPA 1 and NFPA 101. It is adopted as amended by Chapter 69A-60, Florida Administrative Code. The site maintained by the Florida Department of Financial Services, Division of State Fire Marshal, provides a link to order a complete copy and provides local amendments.
