February 11, 2011 Dear Friends, As the Legislative Session approaches, lots of attention is being paid to what will happen to state employees and their jobs. Regardless, here at DBPR we will remain focused on our primary mission – to license efficiently and regulate fairly, ultimately getting Florida back to work. Now more than ever, Florida businesses and professionals need help and DBPR is often the only place they can turn to for assistance. This is the very reason our "You Save the Day" program was originally created – because helping businesses stay open and keep employees on the books is the most important function we can perform every day. DBPR works hard to be innovative and creative, to the benefit of the people we serve, and we will continue putting those customers first, above and beyond all else. Whether it's getting the length of time customers are on hold with our Customer Contact Center down to just a few minutes or cutting our license application processing times down from months to just under three days, these improvements matter to our business community and we're going to keep it up. As our Governor and his team work to make Florida the best place for businesses to grow and create jobs, DBPR will continue working to make the process of starting up a business or getting a professional license easier, faster, and better. Sincerely, ![]() Charlie Liem Department of Business and |
