March 4, 2011 Dear Friends, This week, I was so proud to announce that our department developed the first free iPhone and Android apps for a state agency. These apps will allow people to search for state licenses by name or license number, enabling people to check instantaneously whether an individual has a business or professional license in the State of Florida. These apps will help us answer questions faster and be more responsive to our customers who are on the go, increasing transparency and accessibility for Floridians. And, because we want to keep improving our services to our customers, we're already working on the second version with additional consumer tools. Announcing these apps was the result of more than just several months of development and creative thinking; these apps represent DBPR's never-ending quest to be quicker, smarter, and faster. We built these applications entirely in house, working with our staff to determine what options would be most useful to our customers. They are a testament to our commitment to continue growing, improving and providing the best customer service we can and, after only a few days of being available, the iPhone app has already landed in the upper half of Apple's top 100 list of free business applications! If you have an iPhone or Android phone, take a minute to download the apps, test them out, and send us your feedback. Version 2 is in the works, and we'd love your input to keep making it better! You can send your thoughts to website.feedback@dbpr.state.fl.us. Sincerely, ![]() Charlie Liem Department of Business and |
