March 12, 2010 Dear Friends: This week, I would like to start by inviting you to "On the Road 2 Better Business, Part 2" next Friday, March 19, from 2 to 5 p.m. at our offices in Tallahassee. I hope you will take the time to stop by and meet with me one-on-one to share your experiences and suggestions for DBPR. I look forward to hearing your feedback and working together to make improvements at DBPR. As we are busy working this legislative session, college students are taking a week off from their work for spring break. Thousands of students will flock to Florida's beaches to enjoy a week of fun in the sun, and agents with the Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco will be patrolling the beaches to help provide a safe environment. For the remainder of this month, ABT agents from around the state will patrol popular spring break destinations statewide. They will enforce underage drinking laws and retailer compliance with alcoholic beverage laws to prevent underage youth from obtaining alcohol. ABT will partner with local law enforcement and other state agencies and serve as the lead agency on all tobacco- and alcohol-related offenses. Spring break is a vital economic engine for Florida's economy, and public safety is an important part of making the Florida experience a positive one. Thank you to our ABT agents for working extra hours and traveling to popular spring break destinations to help ensure a safe spring break season. Sincerely, ![]() Charlie Liem Department of Business and |
