June 24 , 2011 Dear Friends, Earlier this week, Governor Scott announced 18 appointments to eight of the licensing boards administratively housed under the Department of Business and Professional Regulation. These boards are generally responsible for licensing applicants, promulgating rules and disciplining licensees. Being a member of a board, council or commission is an excellent way to serve the state and your industry because members play a vital role in the process of making sure the professionals in our state are licensed efficiently and regulated fairly. Many people may not know that there are often positions available to serve on many of these professional boards. For more information on these vacancies and to view the specific licensing requirements or other conditions for membership, interested individuals may click here. Board, council and commission members are valuable public servants, and I encourage anyone who is interested to find out more about how you can get involved in the licensing process! Sincerely, ![]() Ken Lawson Department of Business and |
