Over the past few months, I've been evaluating DBPR's leadership structure and the Department's organization logistics. I've been looking for ways to maintain quality leadership and direction that will benefit our customers while streamlining our Department and improving efficiency.
With those goals as my focus, I am pleased to announce some changes here at DBPR. Tim Vaccaro, previously the director of the Department's Division of Professions, will now serve as the Deputy Secretary of Professional Regulation. G.W. Harrell, previously the Executive Director of the Construction Industry Licensing Board, will now lead the Division of Professions as the new director. I am excited about these two appointments because I know these individuals care about our customers and will work to make sure businesses and professionals have a good experience when interacting with DBPR.
I have also appointed Reggie Dixon to serve as the Executive Director of the Drugs, Devices and Cosmetics program, which will be transferred to our Department in October. And last but certainly not least, we welcomed Ruth Dillard to DBPR as our new Director of Administration and Financial Management, merging two former divisions together to improve efficiency and agency management.
I am confident these changes will help DBPR meet our mission to license efficiently and regulate fairly. As always, the Department is committed to serving our customers and making Florida the best place for business!
