July 23, 2010 Dear Friends: Part of the department's mission to support Florida's real estate industry includes licensing and regulating real estate and appraiser instructors. These individuals play a unique role in that each one of them trains from hundreds to thousands of future real estate professionals. By ensuring the real estate and appraiser instructors are well trained, we can make sure that Florida's real estate professionals have the knowledge they need to succeed, and we help protect consumers. The Division of Real Estate will be holding four, one-day seminars in Miami (July 27), Clearwater (July 29), Orlando (Aug. 25) and Tallahassee (Sept. 28). For the first time, DBPR is partnering with Florida Realtors® to hold an instructor seminar in conjunction with the Florida Realtors® Convention in Orlando, Aug. 25-29. Real estate and appraiser instructors are required to take the division-sponsored, seven-hour continuing education seminar each renewal cycle. Division employees teach the seminars, which include information on law and rule changes, legal issues and current hot topics, such as short sales and escrow audits. Real estate and appraiser instructors provide initial and continuing education to more than 300,000 real estate and appraiser licensees. I'm proud of the work our Division of Real Estate employees do to prepare for these seminars. Providing detailed and relevant information to our instructors is the behind-the-scenes work that goes into making Florida a great place to do business. Sincerely, ![]() Charlie Liem Department of Business and |
