August 22, 2008 Dear Friends: As many of you know, the Department of Business and Professional Regulation is "On the Road to Better Business," and I’d like to invite you to join me on this journey. In fact, without you, we couldn't accomplish our mission. As a licensee, you have a unique perspective into our business practices, and we rely on your insight to help us enhance the way we serve you. On Thursday, Aug. 28, I'll be in Tampa, and I invite you to meet with me in a one-on-one session any time from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Bromley Building, located at 3725 W. Grace St., Suite 510, Tampa, Fla. I'm looking forward to meeting you and listening to your experiences and recommendations. Don't be surprised if your story is one of the stories I share with others as an example of someone who helped improve the way the Department works. If you don't live in the Tampa area, please visit www.MyFloridaLicense.com to check for a tour stop near you. Also, this week I've spent some time at the State Emergency Operations Center watching Tropical Storm Fay and the State Emergency Response Team in action. I'd like to remind you that if you've experienced any damage from the storm, please be sure to hire a state-licensed contractor to do repair work. In my experience at the Department, I've heard too many horror stories about unlicensed individuals who have taken advantage of storm victims and caused great financial and personal harm. Protect yourself by checking state-licenses online at www.MyFloridaLicense.com. Sincerely, ![]() Charles W. Drago Department of Business and |
