October 14, 2011 Dear Friends, Aside from assisting our customers, one of DBPR’s main goals is informing Florida’s citizens about useful resources available to them, many of which are on our website. DBPR’s Division of Condominiums, Timeshares and Mobile Homes certifies private education providers, conducts its own educational seminars throughout the State on a continuing basis and publishes educational materials in both Spanish and English. For more information on the various educational materials available through the Division, feel free to visit here. The Division’s educational seminars are throughout the state regarding multiple subject areas, including board member responsibilities, budgets and reserves, elections, financial reporting, legislative updates and the complaint process. For more information on upcoming seminars, I encourage you to take a look here. Another valuable tool available on our website is our Unlicensed Activity page, where anyone can report unlicensed activity. DBPR is not only responsible for licensing and regulating Florida’s licensed businesses and professionals, we are also responsible for investigating unlicensed businesses and professionals. Unlicensed activity is a serious threat to the health, safety and welfare of Florida’s residents and visitors, and we have made enforcement one of our highest priorities. For more information on our unlicensed activity enforcement efforts or to report suspected unlicensed activity, please visit here. Please remember that email addresses are public record, even when complaints are submitted anonymously. Complaints can also be reported via the unlicensed activity hotline, 1-866-532-1440, which is toll free within Florida. These are just two of the many resources available on our website at www.myfloridalicense.com. I encourage you to take advantage of them all! Sincerely, ![]() Ken Lawson Department of Business and |
