The Bottom Line

Department of Business and Professional Regulation

October 25, 2013

Dear Friends,

Less than a week away, more than 40,000 cosmetologists in the state of Florida are slated to renew their professional license. For some cosmetologists, October 31st is the deadline to renew their licensure. Those of you who are up for renewals this month may have already taken action by submitting your continuing education but have not paid the renewal fee or vice versa. Be sure that you are aware of all the requirements to complete your license renewal on time.

Here at DBPR, we understand that with so many professionals set to renew their license at one time, it’s important that we are doing all that we can to better serve you. Throughout the past several months, the department has updated its renewal procedures to ease the process for licensees. Licensees who have their email address on file can now expect to receive renewal notices and reminders in their email inbox. In addition, license renewals may also be completed online to save time and postage costs. To renew online, you must create an account first on our website at www.myfloridalicense.com. Once your account has been created online, you may renew by following the steps outlined on our home page under “Renew Your License.” The process is designed to be simple and user-friendly so you may renew easily and quickly. Furthermore, if you need assistance along the way, you can speak with a call agent by calling DBPR’s customer contact center at (850) 487-1395.

If you’re one of the 40,000 cosmetologists who need to renew your license before the end of this month, don’t wait until the last minute to complete the renewal requirements and process. It is my mission along with the valued staff of DBPR to do all that we can to help ensure the renewal process is as simple and effective as possible to help you get back to work. We are available to you throughout the process and dedicated to serving you!

Sincerely,
