Dear Friends,

This weekend marks the end of a year that has been exciting, challenging and rewarding. I've been on the job for seven months, and every day has been a learning experience as we've worked to find new ways to encourage businesses and professional growth for our state.

I'm proud of what these past several months have brought, but I want to focus now on the future. I'm excited to usher in a new year because of all of the possibilities that exist - possibilities for growth, improvement and innovation. My new year's resolution is to make Florida the best place to start a business, to get a professional license, and to create jobs for our state and our citizens. I want to make sure our Department does everything we can to reach that goal, and we look forward to continuing to receive your suggestions about how to get there. Happy New Year, and we'll see you in 2012!
