December 19, 2008
This is my favorite time of the year. It is a time when I can look back over the past year and think about the accomplishments we've made. I feel blessed to be a part of the Department of Business and Professional Regulation. You have heard me talk about how great our employees are, and I want to share with you a couple of examples that point out just how great they are.
During this holiday season, our employees have gathered together and donated bicycles, food, clothing and toys to those who are less fortunate and are in-need this holiday season. Staff members with the Division of Technology are going to be staying in town during the holidays to ensure we have a successful transition between our vendor-managed licensing system to the new internally run system. The formal transition occurs on Jan. 1, 2009 and they are dedicated to facilitating a smooth transition for our customers.
I want to thank all of the employees at the Department of Business and Professional Regulation for the support they've given Governor Crist, me and, most importantly, the people of Florida this year. DBPR is a great place to work, and I am very blessed to be a part of it.
I also want to thank all of our licensees for the help they've given us, for their input, for their guidance, for their partnership. Thank you all for working with us and supporting us this year.
Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas.
Charles W. Drago
