December 9, 2011 Dear Friends, Our Department is working hard to streamline the licensing and renewal process, making it easier and more efficient for qualified businesses and professionals we regulate to gain licensure in Florida. In an effort to better serve our customers, the Department has initiated some improvements to the DBPR licensing process. First, our online services provide an easy way for customers to apply for or maintain business or professional licenses. By simply creating a user account, many of our customers can apply for licensure, link existing licenses to their accounts or update their license information online. Our online services save time because customers are able to bypass the mail and processing system, reducing the time it may take to process an application by hand. Another feature we have implemented is our email license renewal reminders. By providing valid email addresses to us, customers who are in a current renewal cycle and have yet to renew their license will receive an email reminding them to renew and a link to the online renewal system. This link allows customers to avoid mailing a renewal into the Department or from having to renew over the phone – a far easier and more efficient solution. These are just some of the recent improvements, and we will continue looking for more ways to make our customers’ experience with the Department more positive. I encourage all of our licensees to take full advantage of these new tools! Sincerely, ![]() Ken Lawson Department of Business and |
