The Bottom Line

Department of Business and Professional Regulation

January 3, 2014

Dear Friends,

In 2013, DBPR aimed to make it easier for professionals in the State of Florida to obtain licensure certification. As such, we have implemented a new online certification process for a number of our licensees. This efficient online option allows several license groups to now certify their licenses completely online for free.

Through the former process, Florida licensees who requested licensure in another state were required to mail in a request to DBPR and allow up to 30 days for processing, followed by several days for mailing. Now, licensees can simply go online to www.MyFloridaLicense.com, create an account and complete the online option by selecting “Request Licensure Certification” and receive their certification instantly.

Licensees who are licensed through the Division of Certified Public Accounting, the Division of Drugs, Devices and Cosmetics, the Florida Real Estate Commission and the Florida Real Estate Appraisal Board can now go online and request a license certification for free. These online certifications will be emailed directly to licensees at no expense. For those preferring a detailed report, certification can still be requested by mail and fees will remain the same.

Licensees who are licensed through the Barbers’ Board and Cosmetology Board can also obtain a license certification online, and the fees are unchanged. After payment is received, the certification will be emailed directly to the requested state board.

This new, online certification process reduces the time and cost required for Florida professionals to receive their license certifications, and helps us to aid Florida professionals in remaining licensed, tested and trusted.
