Dear Friends,
Since I’ve become Secretary of the Department, I have made it my personal goal to reach out to as many stakeholders and licensees to discuss what our role is in the regulatory process as well as obtain their feedback on what can be improved here at DBPR. One of the meetings I’ve enjoyed attending and presenting at each year is the Florida Legislative Black Caucus meeting here in Tallahassee leading up to the Legislative Session.
At the meeting I attended this Monday, I gave an overview of the Department, discussed recent initiatives we have completed to make it easier for qualified individuals to obtain licensure and answered several questions the members had on behalf of their constituents. It was a pleasure to attend, and I appreciated the opportunity to do so.
Since February is Black History Month, I found my visit to the Caucus very fitting. Black History Month is about celebrating America’s rich and diverse history and bringing all people together to make both our country and state better. As the Governor’s agent, I am honored to be the Secretary of DBPR so that I may have a positive impact on the business climate for more than one million businesses and professionals in Florida. Thank you for continuing to allow me to serve you!
Sincerely,
Ken Lawson
