Dear Friends,

During this past Legislative Session, several pieces of legislation passed that impact our agency and our licensees. This past Sunday, many of the new laws became effective, and I wanted to make sure you were aware of the new legislation and how it may affect you. We worked hard to reduce the regulatory burdens, and I think these common sense changes will help us ensure Florida is the best place for business.

Some of the highlights include the creation of a fee waiver for military veterans who apply to the Department for a professional license within 24 months of being honorably discharged from service; the repeal of criminal penalties for violations of Department rules for many of our professions; and the reduction of continuing education hours required to reactivate an inactive license for most professions.
