The Bottom Line

Department of Business and Professional Regulation

September 22, 2017

Dear Friends,

The Department of Business and Professional Regulation has been busy following the devastation of Hurricane Irma in Florida. Our team is working tirelessly to help our great state regain normalcy and get Floridians back to work.

DBPR investigators have started traveling to affected areas to distribute signs and educational literature warning consumers about the dangers of unlicensed activity, and the importance of hiring a licensed professional. For information on the dangers posed by hiring an unlicensed contractor, please view my message to the state following Hurricane Irma.

If your home or business suffered damage, I encourage you to verify contractor licenses online at www.myfloridalicense.com or by calling (850) 487-1395 before hiring.

If you suspect unlicensed activity is happening in your area, please report it to the department calling the Unlicensed Activity Hotline at 1 (866) 532-1440, emailing ULA@myfloridalicense.com or using the free DBPR Mobile app.

Sincerely,

Jonathan Zachem
