November 21, 2008 Dear Friends: As Thanksgiving is quickly approaching, I started to think about the things that I'm most grateful for in my life. And as I thought about it, I came up with a list of five things I'd like to share with you. I'm grateful for Governor Crist's confidence in me and the opportunity to serve as the Secretary of the Department of Business and Professional Regulation. This has truly been an exciting year for me, and I've enjoyed the challenges immensely. I'm grateful that the Governor launched Accelerate Florida and directed me to remove burdensome regulation and improve business in Florida. I'm grateful for a team of employees who are not only dedicated to public service, but also are great people to work with. I'm grateful for the licensees and consumers who met me "On the Road to Better Business" and helped identify ways to enhance business. They took time from their businesses to come in and share their experiences with me. It's helped me greatly. Most of all, I'm grateful for my loving family and friends. I am sure that each of you has your own list of things you are thankful for, and I hope you all have an opportunity to share this time of thanks with your families. Also, you’ll see a link to a video edition of the Bottom Line, and I'd like to ask you to take a moment to watch the video. This is another way we’re using technology to better communicate with the people we serve. Thank you, and have a very happy and safe Thanksgiving holiday. Sincerely, ![]() Charles W.
