The Bottom Line

Department of Business and Professional Regulation

September 8, 2017

Greetings,

With Hurricane Irma quickly approaching the state, I’d like to remind Florida’s consumers and businesses to create a disaster preparedness plan if you have not already done so. Preparation is extremely important to keep your family, home and business safe in the event of a natural disaster.

These state resources can assist you in the event of a natural disaster:

In addition, DBPR also provides resources that can assist you in the event of a natural disaster:

  • DBPR’s Natural Disaster Guide provides steps to protect consumers from becoming victims of unlicensed activity after a natural disaster.
  • Consumers can verify professional licenses with DBPR online at www.myfloridalicense.com, by calling (850) 487-1395 or by downloading the free DBPR Mobile app through iTunes or the Google Play app store.
  • Floridians should report any suspected unlicensed activity to DBPR by emailing ULA@myfloridalicense.com, calling the Unlicensed Activity Hotline at (866) 532-1440 or using the DBPR Mobile app.

On behalf of the Department, please stay safe in the coming days.

Sincerely,

Jonathan Zachem
