CYNTHIA HILL NAMED DIRECTOR OF THE DIVISION OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES AND TOBACCO

Tallahassee- Department of Business and Professional Regulation Secretary Holly Benson today announced the appointment of Cynthia Hill as the Director of the Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco (ABT).
“I am excited to announce that Cynthia has decided to join the DBPR team,” Secretary Benson said. “Her experience with law enforcement and ABT along with her leadership qualities will make her an invaluable addition to the department.”
Cynthia Hill is an experienced law enforcement officer whose career spans over 25 years of serving the people of the State of Florida. She is currently the Bureau Chief for the Florida Park Police at Department of Environmental Protection, responsible for the management of the police within 162 parks statewide.
She previously served as Statewide Captain, in charge of operations and inspections for then Attorney General Charlie Crist. Hill spent 18 years of her career with the Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco, where she rose through the ranks and became the District Captain for the Jacksonville and Gainesville offices. Hill began her state law enforcement career with the Florida Highway patrol as a state trooper in 1982.
Hill holds a bachelors degree in Public Administration from Barry University and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy. She also belongs to several professional associations, Northeast Florida Police Executives Association, FBI National Academy Associates, State Law Enforcement Chiefs Association and Big Bend Law Enforcement Association.
“I am honored to be joining the ABT team once again,” Director Hill said. “The division has a history of dedicated hard working professionals that serve the citizens of the State of Florida and I look forward to working with them.”
Director Cynthia Hill will officially join the DBPR team on October 15.
The Department of Business and Professional Regulation licenses and regulates nearly 1,000,000 of Florida’s businesses and professionals.
