The Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco Announces Annual Quota Liquor License Drawing

TALLAHASSEE—The Department of Business and Professional Regulation’s Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco announced that the annual quota liquor license drawing will be held on June 30, in Tallahassee. There are 27 licenses in 18 counties available for the drawing. Drawings are being held for the following counties:

The alcohol quota license is intended for retailers who wish to sell beer, wine or liquor at establishments, such as bars and package stores, without having to meet requirements of a specialty license, such as a restaurant. The drawing is conducted through a double-random computer drawing.

Each county is allotted a quota license for every increase to their population by 7,500 residents under general law. There are five counties, Duval, Lake, Leon, Nassau, and Polk, which receive new licenses based on county special acts.
The mission of ABT is to keep alcohol and tobacco out of the hands of underage persons, to ensure that licensed establishments are in compliance with the laws and rules regulating the industry in Florida, and to collect taxes and fees related to these industries.
