The Department of Business and Professional Regulation Improves Online Applications for Six Professions
October 21, 2010
TALLAHASSEE—Today, the Department of Business and Professional Regulation announced improved online applications for electrical contractors, harbor pilots, veterinarians, community association managers, talent agents and athlete agents. The new online functions will make the licensing and renewal process easier, faster and more cost-effective.
“This enhancement will improve the customer service experience with DBPR. I am proud of the team at DBPR whose expertise has made this improved customer service possible,” said Secretary Charlie Liem.
The new process allows applications and all supporting documentation to be submitted online. This enhancement reduces the amount of time necessary to review and approve applications and renewals and enables DBPR to process a higher volume at a faster pace. The new online applications will make it easier for Florida’s businesses and professional to get licensed and begin work.
These improved online processes are the second phase of a four-phase project. Phase one, completed in September, provided the new online service to cosmetologists, real estate appraisers and the Division of Hotels and Restaurants renewal applicants.
DBPR’s mission is to license efficiently and regulate fairly. DBPR licenses more than one million businesses and professionals ranging from real estate agents, veterinarians, and accountants to contractors and cosmetologists. For more information, please visit MyFloridaLicense.com.
