Secretary Drago Names Scott Ross as Deputy Secretary of Business Regulation

TALLAHASSEE—A new face joined the Department of Business and Professional Regulation this past week. Mr. Scott Ross assumed the role of Deputy Secretary for Business Regulation divisions, which include Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco, Hotels and Restaurants, Pari-Mutuel Wagering, and Condominiums, Timeshares and Mobile Homes.
“Mr. Ross will be an asset to our team. He comes to us with a combination of knowledge and an extensive skill set that will fit well into our agency’s priorities,” said Secretary Drago.
Deputy Secretary Ross’ previous positions include serving as the State Executive Director for the Republican Jewish Coalition, Director of Government Relations for the Venetian/Las Vegas Sands Corporation in Las Vegas and as Executive Director of the Florida Student Association. During his tenure at the Venetian Las Vegas, Deputy Secretary Ross was responsible for working with government agencies for licensing, expansion and regulatory issues.
“I am honored to join the DBPR Team, and I am dedicated to working for all Floridians and providing them with the best service,” said Deputy Secretary Ross.
Deputy Secretary Ross earned a Juris Doctorate Degree from Nova Southeastern University Law School and bachelor’s degree from Florida State University, where he also worked as an adjunct professor.
