New Department of Business and Professional Regulation Web Page Supports Citizen Participation in Government

TALLAHASSEE—Today, the Department of Business and Professional Regulation announced a new Web page to encourage citizens and licensees to apply to serve on a professional board, council or commission. The new Web page is available on MyFloridaLicense.com and displays opportunities to serve on DBPR’s professional boards, council and commissions. Members are appointed by the Governor and subject to confirmation by the Senate.
“Public service is a high calling, and we want to extend the opportunity to serve the people of Florida as widely as possible,” said Interim Secretary Charlie Liem. “This new Web page is a one-stop-shop on how apply to serve on one of the department’s boards, councils or commissions.”
The new Web page provides a list of Gubernatorial appointment opportunities within DBPR’s professional boards, council and commissions, information regarding membership requirements, estimated time and travel commitments, and a list of current members.
