State Licensing Agency Extends Deadline for Certified and Electrical Contractors
August 30, 2012
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) today announced it is extending the license renewal deadline for certified contractors and both certified and registered electrical contractors whose licenses are set to expire August 31, 2012. Applicable certified contractors and electrical contractors should now renew their license by midnight September 14, 2012. The extension is a result of the impact of Tropical Storm Isaac across the state.
“We want to be sure these licensees have a chance to submit their renewals without penalty,” said Secretary Ken Lawson. “Licensed certified and electrical contractors are vital to the state’s economy, and we believe this extension will give them the time they need to renew so they are able to go about their daily business.”
Licensees are encouraged to use the Department’s online renewal system for faster, more efficient service. Through the online system available at www.myfloridalicense.com, licensees are able to bypass the mail and processing system, reducing the time it may take to process a renewal by hand. For more information regarding their license, certified and electrical contractors can also call DBPR’s Customer Contact Center at 850.487.1395.
