TALLAHASSEE, FL – The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) today announced it has developed the first free smartphone apps for a Florida state agency. The iPhone and Android apps for DBPR will allow consumers to search for state licenses by name or license number, enabling people to check instantaneously whether an individual has a business or professional license in the State of Florida.
In addition to licensing information, both apps will also feature the department’s weekly newsletter, which includes a message from the department's Secretary and important announcements from the department and its divisions. A second version with additional consumer tools is already in development.
