TALLAHASSEE –The Department of Business and Professional Regulation’s (DBPR) Division of Alcoholic Beverages (ABT) is devoting more resources than ever to the prevention of underage drinking. As part of this initiative, ABT will be offering a special training session to Bay, Walton and Okaloosa county alcohol licensees. The purpose of this training will be to provide a refresher course on Florida Alcohol Laws and Rules to vendors, distributors, coalition members, public safety officials and interested citizens in preparation for Spring Break 2008.
Leading up to Spring Break 2008, ABT agents from around the state have been working in conjunction with local law enforcement agencies and advocacy groups to facilitate vendor training and to educate retailers and students on the dangers of underage drinking and the consequences for illegal sales and possession of alcoholic beverages.
The Department of Business and Professional Regulation’s mission is to license efficiently and regulate fairly. The Department licenses nearly one million businesses and professionals ranging from real estate agents, veterinarians, and accountants to contractors and cosmetologists.
