Tim Nungesser is the Director of Legislative Affairs for the Department of Business & Professional Regulations. He joined the department on January 4, 2011. As Director of Legislative Affairs, Tim's responsibilities include coordinating the department’s lobbying efforts, preparing and reviewing legislative proposals and informing the legislature, Governor’s office and other interested parties about the department’s position on legislative issues. In addition, he also coordinates the implementation plan for new laws to take effect with impact to the department.
Prior to his position with the department, Tim worked as a portfolio manager on Governor Rick Scott’s transition team overseeing the Department of Transportation, Department of Environmental Protection, Department of Community Affairs, Division of Emergency Management, and the Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
Tim received his formal education at the University of Central Florida (UCF). There he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Tim also holds a Real Estate technical certificate from Valencia Community College.

Matilde Miller is Deputy Director and has worked in the Office of Legislative Affairs of DBPR since 2000. Her experience in all areas of the legislative process include meeting with legislators regarding issues pertinent to the agency, assisting with legislative proposals and meeting with division directors and other interested parties regarding departmental issues, writing amendments for the team and solving constituent issues, and previously tracking bills and coordinating the agency bill analyses. She is also fluent in Spanish and handles the Spanish-speaking issues for our office. Matilde came to DBPR from the House of Representatives Committee on Community Affairs. Prior to that, she was a Christian school educator for 15 years.
During Session, Matide’s primary responsibility will be lobbying the members and staff of the Florida House of Representatives on behalf of our 2.2 million licensees.

Dan Olson is the Legislative Affairs Senate Coordinator for the Department of Business & Professional Regulations. He joined the department on January 28, 2011. The Senate Coordinator's responsibilities include handling communication and constituent cases with the Senate member offices, monitoring committees and bills involving the agency and compiling talking points for the agency's legislative package. In addition, he is also involved with the implementation plan for new laws that have an impact to the department.
Prior to his position with the department, Dan served Governor Charlie Crist in many different roles. He served as the Governor’s Special Assistant to Northeast Florida and as a member of the Gubernatorial Appointments Office. Most recently, Dan worked as a Policy Analyst for Governor Charlie Crist with the main function of advancing the Governor’s legislative priorities. In doing so he coordinated with the Office of Policy and Budget to help formulate policy, find bill sponsors, and educate legislative members on the effects of the proposed language. Dan was also responsible for tracking and providing briefings on key legislative issues, processing all legislation with the Department of State and preparing bill action press releases.
Dan also worked in Governor Jeb Bush’s Legislative Affairs office as an OPS employee while attending college.
Dan received his formal education at the Florida State University. There, he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Applied Economics as well as Masters in Public Administration.

Jessica Crawford is the Legislative Specialist for the Office of Legislative Affairs within the Department of Business & Professional Regulation and has held this position since July of 2008. Some of her responsibilities include the following: responding to Legislator and constituent inquiries, assisting in legislative bill tracking, reviewing all bills and amendment language, drafting correspondences and reports, processing general office management, and scheduling appointments with the DBPR staff and legislative members.
Prior to this position, Jessica worked as OPS for the Office of Legislative Affairs from January to May of 2008.
Jessica graduated from Florida State University where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a minor in Communications.
