On March 14, 2013, Rule Chapter 61K1-4, Rules for Amateur Rules for Boxing, Kickboxing, and Mixed Martial Arts becomes effective. These rules may be found at https://www.flrules.org/gateway/ChapterHome.asp?Chapter=61K1-4.
The newly adopted amateur rules are a result of numerous workshops and hearings which started in November of 2011. These rules set forth the requirements of Amateur Sanctioning Organizations in the state of Florida including required notification of scheduled events 10 days prior to the event as well as required equipment, medical testing, personnel, conduct of bout, and documentation. Additional information regarding terms used in these rules may be found in Rule 61K1-1.002, Florida Administrative Code.
Additional rules to be enacted soon regarding required pre-match physicals for amateur matches and tournament variances. Draft language may be obtained by contacting the Commission Office at 850.488.8500.

Please be aware that effective December 27, 2012, Rule 61K1-1.001, Florida Administrative Code, was repealed. Veteran's association sponsored events are no longer exempt from Chapter 548, Florida Statutes. Professional events must be sanctioned by the Florida State Boxing Commission. Amateur events must be sanctioned by a licensed Amateur Sanctioning Organization.

Updated Pro-Debut Form
Effective immediately, boxing, kickboxing and mixed martial arts pro debut fighters must provide proof of five (5) amateur competitions prior to competing in the professional arena. Proof of the amateur competition, will consist of verification from an amateur sanctioning organization. Proof will need to be submitted with the pro debut form and bout card. The Executive Director will require the proof of competitions of the pro-debut fighter in order to evaluate his/her bout information prior to the scheduled event.

Fee Changes
Rule 61K1-1.003 (1)(c), Florida Administrative Code, has been amended to increase the licensure fees of announcers, booking agents, matchmakers, participants, physicians, representative of a booking agent, seconds, timekeepers, and trainers. The increased fees are listed below as approved by the commission, and are expected to be enacted early 2013.
