Division of Regulation
Bureau of Child Labor
Enforces the child labor law which is designed to protect the health, education and welfare of working minors in Florida. The program has two primary components within it's mission: (1) the law limits the amount of hours that minors may work, so that minors will be able and available for school; and (2) the law restricts the types of jobs minors may perform for safety reasons. Educating employers, public school officials, students, parents, and the general public is an integral part of proactive enforcement activities that help prevent future incidents of child labor law violations.
